The electricity company number is 933, Saudi Energy's customer service line, open around the clock and listed as the electricity emergency number on the National Platform. Complain to it first by phone, website or app. It replies to a bill complaint within 5 working days; if unresolved, escalate it to the Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority on 19944.
Steps
- The electricity company's official channels: customer service 933, around the clock, which is also the electricity emergency number on the National Platform. Email 933@se.com.sa. Live chat in the company's app, around the clock. The virtual office, Sunday to Saturday, 7 am to 11 pm.
- To complain on the website: open the Contact us page on the Saudi Energy website, choose Complaints, sign in with your account or register a new one, then write your complaint and send it.
- Or visit one of the company's branches, more than 100 across the Kingdom, Sunday to Thursday, 7 am to 3 pm.
- Keep your complaint number and the date you filed it, because you will need them to follow up and escalate.
- To object to an electricity bill: file a bill complaint with the company. It must give you a detailed reply within 5 working days starting from the working day after you file it; otherwise you are owed 100 riyals plus 50 riyals for each extra working day or part of one, paid without you having to claim it.
- While a bill complaint is open and undecided, the company may not cut your electricity for non-payment. If it does, it must restore it at once and you are owed 500 riyals.
- If you doubt the meter reading, you may object to it and ask the company to test the meter.
- Complaints about anything other than bills must be examined by the company within 30 working days of filing.
- To escalate: if you object to the outcome of your complaint or the company is late handling it, file a complaint with the Saudi Electricity Regulatory Authority through the Complaint Service on its website after signing in with the National Single Sign-On (Nafath), in the authority's app, or on its call centre 19944. The service is free and takes 20 working days.
- You receive notifications on your mobile about your complaint with the authority until it is handled, and you can follow it after signing in to the same service. The authority's email for consumer enquiries and complaints is ca@sera.gov.sa.
- If your power goes off or is restored late, you are owed compensation that is paid automatically under the service level standards; the details are on the Dalni page on power outage compensation.
Have ready:
- Your complaint number with the company and its date, if you have filed one
- The bill you are objecting to, or the meter reading
- An account on the Saudi Energy website or app, and a National Single Sign-On (Nafath) account to escalate to the authority
- A short description of the problem and its dates
- Your account and meter details, which you type on the official site only
