Objecting to a TGA fine: how do I do it?

Prepared from the official page

You object to a Transport General Authority fine online, for free, with the “Violation Objection” service on the TGA website. Under the Road Land Transport Law, you can object to a penalty given by a TGA inspector within 30 days of being notified of it. For help, call 19929.

Steps

  1. Go to the TGA website, then the “E-Services” page.
  2. Choose the “Violation Objection” service and press “Start Service”.
  3. Sign in through the Nafath (National Single Sign-On) platform, then submit the objection.
  4. Submit it within 30 days of being notified of the penalty. If the request comes back to you as incomplete, complete it within 10 days or it is cancelled.
  5. The TGA committee decides within 30 days of the first session that looks at your objection, unless it needs more time. If it keeps the penalty, the law lets you object before the competent court within 60 days of being told of its decision.

Have ready:

  • The violation number and date
  • The reason for your objection
  • Any papers that support your objection
