The airline cancelled my flight. What are my rights?

Prepared from the official page

You have two choices: another flight, or cancel the booking and get all your money back plus compensation. The compensation depends on when they told you.

Steps

  1. Ask the airline for other flights.
  2. If you take another flight, you get no cancellation compensation. But the delay rules apply to the time difference.
  3. If you cancel the booking, ask for everything you paid, including seat and bag fees.
  4. Ask the airline for compensation and get the complaint number.
  5. If the airline does not solve it within 7 days, escalate it to GACA on its website.

Have ready:

  • Booking number and ticket number
  • Flight number, date and route
  • The time the problem happened
  • Your complaint number with the airline and its date
