How is my end-of-service benefit calculated?

Prepared from the official page

It is based on your last salary: half a month's pay for each of the first 5 years, and a full month's pay for each year after that.

Steps

  1. Find your last salary and how many years you worked.
  2. Count half a month's pay for each of the first 5 years.
  3. Add a full month's pay for each year after 5 years; part of a year counts in proportion.
  4. If you resigned: you get one third after 2 years, two thirds after more than 5 years, and the full amount at 10 years or more.
  5. It must be paid within a week after work ends, or two weeks if you resigned. If it is not paid, file an “amicable settlement” request.

Have ready:

  • Your start date and end date
  • Your last salary
  • Why the job ended: you resigned or the employer ended it
  • Your work contract
